How to automatically number rows in Excel

Numbering rows in excel differs from that of other Microsoft Office programs, in that it does not have a function for automatic numbering. However sequential numbering can be done quite easily by adding them to rows containing data and dragging the fill handle, which will fill a column with that series of numbers or you can use the row function.
