HOW COPY AN EXCEL 2016 CHART TO ANOTHER OFFICE APPLICATION

Sometimes you may need to use an Excel chart to enhance your presentation, whether in Word or PowerPoint copy the chart in the Excel document, and then insert the chart in the other program, with the use of the available paste options.

Go to Excel and select the chart you wish to copy, then right-click and select copy or press the keys Ctrl and C simultaneously.

Go to the Word document or PowerPoint presentation and select the area to paste.

To select how to paste the chart, select Paste Options, located next to the bottom of the chart.

By choosing one of these options you can keep the chart connected to the initial spreadsheet:

The Use Destination Theme & Link Data option updates the formatting of the chart and matches it to the formatting of the destination

The Keep Source Formatting & Link Data option keeps the formatting as is.

You also have the option to sever the link to the original worksheet. To do so select one of the following options:

Select Picture. To paste the chart in a picture format. It is important to note that when a chart is pasted as a picture it cannot be changed or updated, however it can be replaced with a different picture and then formatted.
